To empower and strengthen our communities by training and educating individuals in life saving strategies and techniques for real life scenarios. It is a sobering responsibility that we do not take lightly; innocent lives depend on it!

In these classes and courses, you will develop top notch skill sets that will change your life and your view on safety!
Unfortunately, we never know the dangers that surround us, so we always need to be prepared and aware of our surroundings.

Our Team

Our Self Defense Program was developed by Former PG County Officer of 12 years, Al Gauthier. Al has trained with the women and men of the U.S Army for combat as well as anti- Terrorism for the Department of State. He has been a guest instructor for NSA, DEA, DOD, Police, and military. He’s a certified Police instructor with the MD Police Training Commission and with the Department of Justice, an Instructor for a training team overseas in Jordan, an Anti Terrorism Assistant Instructor with the Department of State, and a part of the Counter Terrorism training team with the U.S. Department of State Anti Terrorism Assistance Training Program. Vital Vigilance is run by the lead instructor, Mark Fleming. Mark has Tactical Self Defense and Active Assailant Training with Master Al Gauthier with a background in MMA/Boxing. He holds a brown belt in Han Guk Mu Sool; a compilation of Korean martial arts. Mark is the owner of Three-2 Health & Fitness Studio located in Severna Park, MD and is dedicated to teaching others the importance of health and fitness along with their personal safety!

A glimpse Inside Our Self Defense Programs

During your first Vital Vigilance Self Defense Training class, you will gain knowledge from a brief slideshow on who we are, what we do, and the importance of safety and self-awareness in todays world. Following the slideshow, we go right into hands on training! Below are just a a few of the skill sets that everyone can master with practice!

In this course, we break down the hands on skills you are shown in the 3 hour course and have one on one instruction time to learn how to master these techniques
