My words to live by:

“Iron Will…. Never Quit”.

My Story

Growing up, I was always regularly active as a child. I played sports year-round and always had a passion for anything related to fitness. Once I went to college, I had the idea of getting into business and being a manager of a gym or working in the corporate setting by helping people with their nutrition and their workouts; something simple. While in college, I switched majors 2 times (business and social work) and was still unclear of the path I wanted to take until I took 1 class in Anatomy and Physiology. That class changed the course of what I wanted to pursue in life, and I never looked back. I graduated with Honors with my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and with my master’s degree in Applied Health Physiology. While I was pursing my master’s degree, I began working at the Big Vanilla/YMCA in Arnold as a fitness staff member. I did the basics of helping people use the fitness equipment and just helped keep the place organized and clean. During the first 3 months of doing this job, I was not sure if this was what I wanted to do and did not seem like this was going to take me into my full-time career; until my director at the time approached me with a proposal. He asked me to offer a 5-minute core workout routine for the group exercise members as a “complimentary member appreciation” type of thing. I did this for about 2 months and thought nothing of it until my director approached me again and wanted to have a meeting with me. He told me that I really should pursue a job as a personal trainer because after doing those short 5-minute classes, my name was circulating throughout the gym. I decided to do just that and completed my ACE Personal Training certification while finishing up my master’s degree. I began to train a few people (mostly one on one clients) but it was a very slow process and felt like it was going to take way too long to develop a long client base and make a career out of this profession. But, fast forward 15 years later, and here I am now with my very own Health and Fitness Studio! It has been an adventure for sure! Over the years, I have been blessed to have built up a clientele that has supported me and believe in all that I do. Their growth, development, and hard work have made my job worth doing. I try to teach each of them a mindset that tells them to be strong, bold, and determined towards their health and fitness goals. I want everyone to get the best workout possible for their needs and I customize every workout to make sure they are taken care of, regardless of their fitness levels or physical restrictions.

Philosophy

Exercise should be challenging and hardworking; all while pushing your body past its comfort zone in a safe and controlled way.

We want to set short and long-term goals work each day to achieve them. Every individual deserves a person who is dedicated to their work and is willing to work side by side with them.
My goal is to educate individuals on how to live a healthy lifestyle along with being able to take advantage of the simple ‘pleasures’ in life. Working out and eating healthy should be a part of your life but not an obsession. It is all about balance.

Phrases that I live by and want my clients to learn:

Be present in the moment.

Iron will……Never quit.

Push past your comfort zone.

You are stronger that you think.

Mind over matter

Motivation is temporary…. Discipline is forever.
